Ajinomoto Provide Education on the Importance of Amino Acids for the Sports Recovery Process

Jakarta, July 2024 – Amino acids are organic compounds that make up protein nutrients which have a very important function for the body, especially when exercising. For sports enthusiasts, amino acids are needed to help the muscle recovery process and reduce fatigue after exercise. Education regarding the importance of amino acids, especially during recovery process in sports activity, was provided by Ajinomoto through aminoVITAL™ Brand in a workshop with the theme "Training-Fueling-Recovery at the Road to Garmin Run Indonesia 2024 event" which was held on Saturday, July 13 2024, at Kopi Kalyan, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

Attended by around 50 sports enthusiasts, the majority of whom are members of various running communities, on this workshop occasion Ajinomoto invited Emilia E. Achmadi MS, Clinical Dietitian-Sport Nutritionist to provide a sharing session on how to maximize the recovery process in sports activities and as preparation for the participants who will take part in the race (running competition).




“High-intensity sporting activities such as long-distance running require sustained energy to help them get through long periods of exercise. One of the biggest mistakes made by sports enthusiasts is not carrying out the recovery process properly and not allowing enough time after training sessions or races. As a result, they have the potential to experience prolonged muscle pain, decreased performance in physical activities, and injury. "The things I mentioned earlier can happen because we don't pay attention to the body's energy system, but we want more (in running activities)," said Emilia E. Achmadi MS.

"Therefore, it is important for sports enthusiasts to know how the energy system works. In fact, the basic thing that needs to be considered in the energy system is the intake that enters our body, or an easy analogy is what fuel our body needs to produce energy. To provide the right fuel, an appropriate diet must be formulated and implemented during the preparation period for a race and don't forget that hydration of the body is also important. After we apply the right intake and diet, we use our energy during training or racing, don't forget about the recovery period. This is where the consumption of foods containing protein and essential amino acids plays an important role. Apart from the workshop which was held last Saturday (13 July 2024), the series of Road to Garmin Run Indonesia 2024 activities was also filled with Fun Run activities with various communities that will be hold in August 2024, as preparation for sports enthusiasts to take part in before trying out the Race Day of Garmin Run Indonesia 2024 that will be hold in September 2024.
