Jakarta, February 2025 - Ajinomoto Indonesia Group (Ajinomoto) has a Purpose, ‘Empowering the sustainable well-being of all human-beings, our society and our planet with AminoScience’. One form of effort to achieve this new purpose is to create activities that support the implementation of a healthy lifestyle in the community. Seeing that there are still quite a lot of Indonesian people's habits, both from workers and school-age children who skip breakfast, and based on a survey by the Research and Development Bureau of Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) of the Republic of Indonesia, which reported that 47.7% of children have not met their minimum energy needs at breakfast, and as many as 66.8% of children have breakfast with low nutritional quality or their nutritional needs haven’t been met, Ajinomoto through the Sajiku® Brand took initiative to create a series of activities to encourage Indonesian people to implement a healthy lifestyle by meeting the need for balanced nutritional intake through breakfast. One of the activities is the Live Cooking Demo with breakfast menu 'Nasi Goreng Ayam ala Sajiku® Bumbu Praktis' guided by Chef Nicky Tirta and dietitian Tommy G, S.Gz, RD, dipl Nutrigenetics, which was held on January 26, 2025 in the Car Free Day area of FX Sudirman.
Realizing the importance of breakfast, Sajiku® Bumbu Praktis has been carrying out the 'Sajiku Breakfast Mission' movement since 2022 by inviting the Indonesian people to make a Delicious, Hassle-Free but Nutritious Breakfast to start their daily activities. In this activity, Sajiku® distributed 1,350 Nasi Goreng breakfast packages for free on Car Free Day and at the Tanah Abang Commuter Line Station with the aim of educating the Indonesian people, especially office workers who often skip breakfast, as well as encouraging the public to try making a delicious, nutritious Nasi Goreng breakfast menu, and of course without the hassle with Sajiku Bumbu Nasi Goreng.
In addition, Sajiku® also demonstrated how to cook Nasi Goreng Ayam ala Sajiku® with Chef Nicky Tirta and carried out various activities to invite Indonesian people to actively exercise, through the Poundfit Session activity on Car Free Day last week," said M. Reviana Havier, Head of Sauce & Seasoning Dept - PT AJINOMOTO INDONESIA.
“The series of activities from Sajiku® Brand in the momentum of National Nutrition Day (January 25) and ahead of National Breakfast Week (February 14 - 20) this time, are in line with the company's New Purpose (Ajinomoto Indonesia Group) to ‘Empowering the sustainable well-being of all human-beings, our society and our planet with AminoScience’. The Ajinomoto Indonesia Group has its own characteristics with the Ajinomoto Health Provider initiative to realize ASV (Ajinomoto Group Creating Shared Value) and achieve our big goal,” she continued.
According to Tommy G, S.Gz, RD, dipl Nutrigenetics, dietitian who specializes in Nutrigenetics, consuming a breakfast menu that fulfills the intake of macro and micro nutrients is very important to meet the daily nutrient intake.
"A number of studies have shown the benefits of consuming a varied, nutritious, and balanced breakfast menu, in increasing concentration when doing activities, it can also help control food intake in the next consume period (lunch), and many more," said Tommy.
"Therefore, we need to pay attention to the aspect of nutrient availability (from various food sources) and suitability with daily nutrient needs. The breakfast menu should consist of macro nutrients such as carbohydrates, especially complex carbohydrates, sources of protein, fat (not excessive), and fiber, as well as micro nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. What I said earlier sounds quite complex, but we can actually make a practical, delicious breakfast menu that also fulfills a balanced nutritional intake. For example, as made by the chef this time, this fried rice menu, if you look at the recipe, is not only dominated by carbohydrates and protein, but also fiber, vitamins, minerals, from the use of carrots and tomatoes in quite big portion," he continued.
After various offline event activations, Sajiku® through the Dapur Umami platform, still in the momentum leading up to National Breakfast Week, opens the opportunity for Indonesian people to create a practical, delicious, and nutritious breakfast menu, while also getting various attractive prizes totaling IDR 15 million, by participating in the Re-Cook Challenge #MisiSarapanSajikuSeason3 during 14 Januari until 14 Februari 2025.
