Ajinomoto Educates More than 200 People in Karawang with GEMBIRA

Karawang, Agustus 2024 – Ajinomoto Health Provider is again present to share information about the importance of increasing balanced nutritional intake and family health to mothers of Family Welfare Development (PKK) & waste bank communities in Telukjambe District, Karawang, through the GEMBIRA (Gerakan Masak Bergizi Bersama Ajinomoto Health Provider) event, which was held on July 31, 2024.



 

Towards 2030, PT AJINOMOTO INDONESIA (Ajinomoto) together with Ajinomoto Affiliate Companies throughout the world has a big vision, expand healthy life expectancy of 1 billion people throughout the world and reducing the environmental impact of the company's business activities by up to 50%. To achieve this vision, Ajinomoto Indonesia also contributes by transforming all its employees into Ajinomoto Health Providers. Ajinomoto Health Provider is a term for Ajinomoto Indonesia employees who are equipped with knowledge related to activities that support the implementation of healthy lifestyle and activities that support environmental sustainability owned by Ajinomoto Indonesia Group. Health Provider is an integrated sustainability initiative from Ajinomoto Indonesia Group, covering activities that support health and environmental sustainability.

"Today, to around 200 PKK women & 50 members of the waste bank community in Telukjambe District, Karawang, we-Ajinomoto Health Providers, sharing education regarding the importance of balanced nutritional intake for families, how to choose good quality food by prioritizing balanced nutritional intake through a guide "Isi Piringku" which recommend by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, and we also socialize the importance of limiting salt intake through highlight message "Smart Salt". This campaign was initiated by Ajinomoto as a strategy to reduce the risk of hypertension through reducing the use of salt and adding a bit MSG, which can create delicious dishes even though we use a little amount of salt. Through today's education, it is hoped that mothers' knowledge regarding good and nutritionally balanced food intake will increase, and this knowledge can also be passed on to other family members so it can become a good habit in preparing nutritious food for family," said Rina Sukaesih, Director - PT AJINOMOTO INDONESIA



 

Apart from education about nutrition, Ajinomoto also presented Chef Muhammad Affan for a cooking demonstration of 3 simple, delicious and nutritious menus, Capcay Seafood ala Masako®, Mie Goreng Spesial ala Masako®, dan Sup Ayam ala AJI-NO-MOTO®. At the first GEMBIRA event in FY 2024, Ajinomoto Health Provider Team also provided additional education, how to calculate nutritional status using a Nutrition Disc, and the Nutrition Disc was also given to all participants so that they could use it at home with their families, and the knowledge could also be disseminated to friends in the surrounding area. Not to forget, the Ajinomoto Health Provider team also provided information regarding Masako® product knowledge, whose products were also used by Chef Affan in cooking demo session.



 

"This activity is an ongoing activity held by Ajinomoto as a form of commitment to continue to contribute to extending people's healthy life expectancy by providing nutritional education for Indonesian families. After today, the GEMBIRA Event will also be held in several other cities such as: Makassar, Cirebon, Medan, Kediri, and several other cities," added by Nico Andrias - Health Provider Ambassador Ajinomoto Indonesia as the speaker at today's GEMBIRA event.



 

Apart from educational activities and cooking demos through the GEMBIRA event, previously participants consisting of PKK women & members of the waste bank community in Telukjambe District, Karawang, were invited to visit the Ajinomoto Visitor Center located at the Karawang Ajinomoto Factory. There, all participants were explained starting from the history of the discovery of the source of the umami taste which was the origin of the creation of MSG AJI-NO-MOTO®, to seeing firsthand how Ajinomoto products such as Masako®, Sajiku®, SAORI®, are produced


 


"In Karawang, our factory started operating in 2012, and we presented the Ajinomoto Visitor Center to the public on July 25, 2019. Here, all colleagues can see for themselves how we maintain the quality of Masako®, Sajiku® and SAORI® products. This activity is one of our ways of educating the public about the quality of our products and also about the safety of MSG," said Jasman Silalahi - Director of PT AJINOMOTO INDONESIA 

 



Through the Health Provider's contribution, Ajinomoto hopes to inspire many parties to carry out other movements aimed at increasing public awareness to adopt a healthy lifestyle with their families, while continuing to preserve the environment.
