In the cooking demo session, Chef Citra was accompanied by the Governor of Central Java’s spouse - Siti Atiqoh, Chair of the Central Java TP PKK, Governor of South Sumatera spouse - Febrita Lustia, Chair of the PKK South Sumateran TP and the Head of BKKBN spouse - Reni Hasto, Advisor to DWP BKKBN The center selects the basic ingredients for catfish. Catfish are fish that usually live in rivers and are found in large rivers in South Sumatera, such as the Musi, Batanghari and Indragiri rivers. According to Chef Citra, the Kuah Kuning catfish menu can also be a recommendation for a food menu with a high enough source of animal protein, so that it can be used as an alternative family menu to prevent stunting in children.
"The menu this time contains quite a lot of animal protein because I use fish (patin fish) which is easy to get in our daily lives, and the price is also affordable. So actually, to get a good balanced nutritional intake, you don't have to use expensive food ingredients. In this menu, I also apply Smart Salt concept to prevent the risk of hypertension. It is enough to reduce the use of salt, which was originally 2 tsp (teaspoon), and change into 1 tsp salt + ½ tsp MSG (for 1 liter of water/gravy in the cooking menu)," said Chef Citra.
According to Prof. Rizal Damanik DVM, MRepSc, PhD, Deputy of BKKBN's Training, Research & Development Division, To provide wider impact and benefits to society, in the momentum of the 30th National Family Day, BKKBN carries the theme "Towards Stunting-Free Families, For Advanced Indonesia", with one of its activities Gerakan Kembali ke Meja Makan.
"The activity of Gerakan Kembali ke Meja Makan is a joint effort to remind Indonesian families of the importance of taking time together and communicating with family members, so that family ties or bonds become stronger. Children have a channel to express their pent up problems, and parents can guide any problems that are felt by their children," said Prof. Rizal Damanik.
"Indonesia has experienced a significant decline in the prevalence of stunting from year to year, but it is still above the WHO standard threshold, so it is still in the category of a stunting emergency. Based on data from the 2022 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI), the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is still at 21.6%. Therefore, we must make every effort so that the target of 14% in 2024 can be achieved. For holding this event, I would like to thanks the South Sumatera Provincial Government, colleagues at BKKBN, South Sumatera Provincial Sports Youth Service, South Sumatera Province Food Crops & Horticulture Service, South Sumatera Province Food Security & Animal Husbandry Service, Medco Inti Dinamika , Ajinomoto, Foundation, OneMed, and Heinz ABC," concluded by Prof. Rizal Damanik.
