Masako® & SAORI® Earn TOP Halal Award 2024

Jakarta, Oktober 2024 – PT AJINOMOTO INDONESIA (Ajinomoto) consistently ensures that all of its product lines are halal certified. Not only that, Ajinomoto also consistently implements the Halal Assurance System (SJH) in all of its factories in carrying out the production process. With this commitment and consistency, two brands owned by PT AJINOMOTO INDONESIA, namely Masako® & SAORI®, received the TOP Halal Award 2024 organized by the Indonesia Halal Training & Education Center (IHATEC) Marketing Research.


"On behalf of all levels of management and employees of the Ajinomoto Indonesia Group, I express my gratitude and thanks for the trust and appreciation given by all Indonesian families through the awarding of the Top Halal Award 2024. We express our deepest gratitude to families in Indonesia who remain loyal to our products. This award is proof that Ajinomoto is able to maintain the mandate to maintain the halalness of products. The efforts we have made so far are a manifestation of the company's commitment to providing delicious, high-quality products that consumers can trust. This award is very meaningful for the progress of our Halal Management and provides motivation and pride for the company to continue to meet the needs and expectations of the community for safe and halal food products which are our main priority," said Ir. Hermawan Prajudi, Director of PT AJINOMOTO INDONESIA.


"We will continue to carry out sustainable innovation while still complying with other regulations set by the regulator, so that the implementation of halal guarantees in the future is maintained in order to provide good products for all families in Indonesia," he continued.


The TOP Halal Award 2024 by IHATEC Marketing Research was held in order to appreciate all brands that managed to achieve the top position for the best halal image based on the Top Halal Index survey.


"The TOP Halal Award was held with the aim of appreciating company brands among Indonesian consumers. So this award is not ours to judge, but based on the results of the Top Halal Index survey," said Evrin Lutfika S.Tp, M.TPn, Director of IHATEC Marketing Research, at the JS Luwansa Hotel, South Jakarta, Wednesday (16/10/2024).


"This year's theme is 'Building Halal Brand to Capture Global Market'. This year, there are thousands of brands competing to achieve the TOP Halal predicate, around 300 brands have succeeded in achieving the TOP Halal predicate. However, only 52 Indonesian products won the TOP Halal Award 2024," she continue.

In this year's award assessment, IHATEC conducted a Top Halal Index survey in six major cities in Indonesia, Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Medan, Makassar, and Balikpapan with 1,700 respondents, most of them were millennials, consist of 87 percent Moslem respondents and 13 percent non-Moslem respondents. The survey was conducted from June to July 2024 using the face-to-face interview method.


Consumers were asked directly about the halal brands that were in the minds of consumers in each product category without being given a choice of answers, truly halal product brands that stuck in the minds of consumers. Not only that, this survey also contains information about the behavior and perceptions of Indonesian Millennials towards halal products, halal brand awareness, last usage halal brands, future intention halal brands, Top Halal Index, brand switching analysis, conversion rate analysis, and others.
