Every year Ajinomoto send Indonesian students to study (Master Program) at one of the selected universities in Japan.
Ajinomoto Indonesia through the Ajinomoto Foundation in this year provide postgraduate scholarships for Indonesian students to continue their studies at 7 selected universities in Japan. The list of Universities are Tokyo University, Kyoto University, Ochanomizu University, Kagawa Nutrition University, Nagoya University, Waseda University, & Tokyo Institute of Technology. An attractive offer from a Japanese company that produces variety of seasoning and food products, in the form of a Masters Program (S2) scholarship for the field of Nutrition & Food Technology.
Ajinomoto Foundation annually gives this scholarship to 1 Indonesian student with the Ajinomoto Post-Graduate Scholarship program. The program, which has been implemented since 2010, is a Full Scholarship Program, with details: monthly allowance of 150,000 yen, plus full tuition fees, admission, full examination, and flight tickets to Japan.
The requirement, prospective students have a strong determination to continue Master's studies in the field of Science (Nutrition & Food Technology) with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.50. Maximum age of 35 years old, and interested in learning Japanese culture and language. Prospective scholarship recipients also must have a strong and healthy physical and mental condition, and high motivation to learn.
One of the recipients of the Ajinomoto scholarship program last year was Akrim Said, 26, from Makassar, South Sulawesi. Akrim is a Bachelor of Nutrition Science graduate from Bogor Agricultural University, who received the Ajinomoto scholarship program in 2019. Currently Akrim is taking a Masters Program at the Graduate School of Nutrition Sciences, Kagawa University, under the guidance of Host Professor Yukari Takemi. Akrim started the program since April 2019, therefore he is predicted to graduate in April 2022 with a Master of Science (M.Sc).
"I am very grateful to have been chosen as one of the Ajinomoto scholarship winner. In my opinion the selection is quite strict or difficult," Akrim describe. According to Akrim, during the selection, Ajinomoto Indonesia was very professional in providing accommodation for all selection participants who came from various regions in Indonesia.
"This scholarship does not bind us to work where after the graduation. This is a CSR program from Ajinomoto. The choice of the Graduate School is also the best universities in Japan," Akrim said.
"I’m grateful to the Ajinomoto Foundation in Japan and also Ajinomoto Indonesia, who have helped and continue to guide me until now," Akrim said. The guidance program provided includes guidance on the delivery of research progress reports annually.
"This scholarship program from the Ajinomoto Foundation has become one of the most important phases in my life. I hope this scholarship program will continue to support the aspirations of the local student to continue their studies in Japan in order to gain knowledge for the advancement of the Indonesian people," concluded Akrim.
